ISBN Book Barcodes
All books use International Standard Book Numbers (ISBN). These are obtained through a designated organization in each country. If you already have an ISBN number and need the barcode images for it, you may order them from us using the links below. If you don’t already have one, you may get one by getting in touch with the National Archives of Malawi here.
A 5-digit pricing code can also be added to the end of an ISBN number. Only in GBP, USD, or CAD may a price of up to “99.99” be encoded using these codes. Some scanners will pick up on these pricing codes, which can make it simpler for merchants to determine the suggested retail price for books. However, most scanners do not read this code at all, so assigning price tags to ISBN numbers is not a frequent practice. However, if you do want a price code included for your ISBN number, please mention that you want it in the “additional information section when filling out your information,” along with the price and currency the pricing code should reflect.
If you have a magazine, you will need to see our ISSN Magazine barcode page.
